unable to add jobs in web UI


Im able to load the jobs main page in IE but when I add a job an click schedule the schedule control doesn't display. If I save a new job with run once nothing is saved. I see no log files to indicate there was a problem the site just doesn't do anything. Where do the logs reside? What steps can I take to troubleshoot this?

Hi there,

Unfortunately, IE support has been dropped.

Please use one of the non-dinosaur browsers (i.e. Edge, Firefox or Chrome).

The web UI doesn't have any kind of logging, you can easily add that though (and you can also easily attach to the BackgroundWorkerService.exe to debug).

It's likely your IE problems have something to do with the Security Zones configuration in your settings. IE in intranet sites (which it automatically detects somehow) tries to render in IE7 compatibility mode. Check the "Emulation" tab on the dev tools (F12). Mine shows Document mode (7 (Default)) and that of course breaks everything.

If you switch the setting to (11), it all seems to work correctly.

You can modify the code to include the IE=Edge meta tag, that should overcome the problem too (sometimes, depending on your domain settings :p)
